Identity Management Solutions

Self-Administration

Who’s got the most updated information relevant to a person’s user account? Well, the person itself, in other words the user. So why not let the user manage and make sure information is up to date on its own user account in the network?
With Nordic Edge Identity Manager, the user can manage and administrate certain information on their user account, such as their name, adress, phone number, reset passwords etc themselves. What information the user has administrative rights to is decided by the policy ruleset managed by the IT department / Service Desk. Administration is carried out through a web browser (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox) and is very user friendly so the user can administrate the account with ease.

Alarms

With the Nordic Edge Automatic Account Manager you have the option to set alarms. You may set your own triggers for these alarms, but an example of a trigger could be if the password to a key account (such as an domain admin or the CEO) is reset or edited. You may in other words monitor your most important or business critical accounts to ensure any changes to these accounts are made with the right intentions or by the right people.

Delegated User Administration

The problems today with administrating user accounts in a network is not only the massive amount of time it requires, but also that the right persons usually are not involved in the process – the work load is often dumped at the IT/Service Desk. Imagine a scenario where you are a part of a project group that requires that you can access other programs in the network in order to carry your necessary work tasks. The project manager places the order at the IT/Service Desk which in turn adds it to their ordering queue, but due to a high workload at the IT/Service Desk, this may take a while before it’s carried out and put into effect. By delegating user administration to persons in the organization who are located closer to the users, in this case the project leader, you’ll obtain higher quality information in the user accounts. You also lessen the waiting time for the users, as well as lessen the work load for IT/Service Desk who now can devote time to more value-adding tasks.

Nordic Edge Identity Manager allows easy and secure administration of user accounts that can be delegated to e.g. the system owner, project leader, IT-coordinator, nearest executive or the user itself. In Identity Manager you can create multiple levels of administrative rights. For example, a project leader may get authorization to create and edit subgroups and manage the entire administration of these groups, while another administrator may only be allowed to add, edit or remove users in a group.

Policy Management

For an identity management system to work in the best way possible, it’s important to define how processes should carried out in the system. Policys and rule sets are definied to make resources (users, programs, products) work and interact.

Built in to Nordic Edge Identity Manager is a powerful process handeling system which allows different process flows to be built, eg where the person responsible for the function must validate an order before it’s carried out. Another scenario could be that a user itself requests to the system to be a part of a work group, and this automatically generates an e-mail to the person with administrative rights to the requested group. When the person with the administrative rights accepts the request, the system automatically adds all new add-ons in the user account so the user gets access to the group.

Reports

When you have an identity management system it is important you can get different types of reports to maintain control of all the information in the system.

Nordic Edge Identity Manager creates everything from simple to advanced reports. Reports can be generated on e.g. users who haven’t logged in on a set number of days (usually 90 days), information regarding users, users who have time-limited accounts (e.g. consultants, temporary staff) and much more.

In Automatic Account Manager you can also decide when these reports are to be generated (eg every night at 4.00) and whom to send these reports to. All this is entered in the systems and carried out automatically. The reports can be generated in a variety of different formats, such as PDF or Excel documents.
